Darron Goralsky
Principal Physiotherapist, Craniosacral Therapist, Director

Darron is the principal physiotherapist and director of More Than Physio. Darron completed his Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in South Africa in 1993 where he went on to complete his post grad in manipulative therapy. Darron is also a CranioSacral Therapist and has a special interest in managing headaches, jaw & face pain. Darron is also the director of our specialist practice Melbourne TMJ & Facial Pain Centre, one of the few centres in Melbourne offering specialised therapy for jaw and face pain conditons.

Darron’s compassionate and holistic approach to treatment is the driving force behind the More Than Physio concept – bringing together a range of mainstream and complimantary therapies to deliver the best possible results for all our patients.

Lisa Friend
Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates & Yoga Therapist

Lisa graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Physiotherapy in 2013 after previously earning a Bachelor degree in 2010, also at the University of Melbourne.  She is a qualified Clinical Pilates (DMA) and yoga (Power Living) instructor and also has qualifications in dry needling. Since graduating, Lisa has spent her time working in busy private physiotherapy clinics treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and neurological conditions.

Lisa is very passionate about holistic health, fitness and wellbeing. She believes in the importance of using her hands-on skills to effectively assess and treat her patients and she also enjoys using exercise as a way to rehabilitate and empower her patients to better health. In a past life, Lisa was a professional cyclist and since finishing, has turned to Pilates, yoga and running half marathons to keep herself physically and mentally fit.

Lisa is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and is a registered Occupational Physiotherapist with WorkSafe Victoria. She thoroughly enjoys working with her patients to achieve the best possible outcomes and is available for appointments Tuesdays through to Thursdays.



Debbie Spanos

Debbie Spanos graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy. Debbie has worked as a physiotherapist in private practice for over 20 years. Her approach to physiotherapy is thorough using long assessment sessions – generally 1 hour and extended treatment sessions. This allows for extensive soft tissue work and mobilisation, patient education regarding their condition and the teaching of self-management strategies and exercises.  Debbie often treats patients with complex and multiple problems. When the patient leaves they should feel empowered and better able to aid their own recovery.  Treatment is a partnership between the physiotherapist and patient, both working together towards the same outcome. Debbie has experience in:

  • Spinal pain – e.g Sciatica, Disc injury, Wry neck, radiating pain and ‘pins and needles’ in arms and legs 
  • Headaches
  • Sports injuries, e.g joint and muscle strains, rehabilitation post knee surgery/ACL repairs
  • Adolescent treatment e.g postural re-education, Patello – Femoral Syndrome, Juvenile Arthritis
  • Shoulder injuries
  • Chronic pain – e.g Arthritis, Inflammatory Disorders, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Fibromyalgia

Continuing Education: Debbie regularly attends workshops and lectures in musculoskeletal sports and spinal physiotherapy.

Joanne Wraight
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist – Spine & Knee Expert

Joanne has over 24 years clinical experience and expertise managing a wide range of spinal & knee related conditions including lower back pain related to injury, disc bulge, knee ligament injuries as well as pre / post surgery rehabilitation. Her work at the Alfred & Cabrini Hospitals with Melbourne’s leading surgeons, as well as her extensive post graduate qualifications gives her a unique insight into the most effective ways to help spinal and knee patients overcome their injuries. Jo’s clinical involvement with high level sports men and women at the Olympics, Common Wealth Games – among other events is testament to her high level of skill and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for all her patients. Her approach incorporates a very detailed history and examination followed by hands-on and exercise based treatment.

Continuing Education: Post-graduate Diploma in Musculo-Skeletal Physiotherapy in 1997 and 1998. A multitude of short courses in areas of spinal, peripheral, sporting physiotherapy, women’s health, hydrotherapy, dry needling and Occupational Physiotherapy training with TAC and WorkSafe Victoria. Other Physiotherapy Work: Part-time at various hospitals, in orthopaedics and spinal surgery including paediatrics and consulting in screening clinics. Lectured at Peninsula Campus of Monash University in 2004 in Sport’s Injury Prevention.  Injury Management Co-ordinator/ Senior Physiotherapist at St Kevin’s Old Boys Football Club in the ‘A’ grade Amateurs, for three years. Written articles on computer use, the spine and ‘Get Fit To Ski’, for Good Health Magazine. Sporting Coverage: Volunteer physiotherapist with Track and Field Athletes at Sydney 2000 Olympics and Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre during the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Melbourne Corporate Games, Arafura Games in Darwin, Australian Masters Games, Australian Netball Championships and the World Police and Fire Games. Work in conjunction with ReCreation Health Club over the last sixteen years and taught fitball classes there for 2 years.  Conducted hydrotherapy classes for over ten years.

Joanne is a long time member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association(APA) She is an active member of the Musculoskeletal, Sports and Dry Needling Physiotherapy Australia special interest groups, and Sports Medicine Australia. Joanne is available for appointments Mondays through to Fridays.

Kim Cusack
Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates Therapist

Kim graduate from University College Dublin in 2012 with a first class honours degree. Since then she has trained as a clinical Pilates Instructor and worked in busy private practice settings in Auckland, providing hands on treatment as well as individual and group Pilates classes. She has a particular interest in treating TMJ and chronic spinal pain/injuries. Kim has trained in Western Acupuncture with the British Medical Acupuncture Society and has facilitated on PAANZ Dry Needling Foundation and Advanced Courses. She has a passion for problem solving and believes that a holistic approach to treatment is crucial in order to accelerate motor learning and restore her clients to full function.




Justin Braver
Physiotherapist, Clinical Pilates Therapist

Justin graduated from La Trobe University and has gained valuable experience working across a variety of clinical settings. Justin is a sports fanaticand played Victorian State Rugby Union,representing Victoria at 5 National championships and playing in the Senior Victorian Rugby Union Team in 2008. Hecombined his passion for physio and sports and was Physiotherapist for the Australian Team competing in the Maccabia Games in Israel.

Justin enjoys treating a diverse range of age groups and people of varying levels of sports participation from elite athletes to the weekend warriors. He enjoys using his experiences as athlete and physiotherapist to assist aspiring athletes overcome injury and then go on to achieve their goals of improving optimal performance levels.

As a trained Pilates Instructor through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute, Justin incorporates exercise rehabilitation into his hands-on patient management.

Russell Short
Remedial Massage Therapist

Russell graduated in 2006 with a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage  Commenced work with Recreation Physiotherapy and Massage in 2006 Treatment Having trained and competed for over twenty years in elite sport as a Paralympic Athlete, Russell brings a wealth of personal experience and understanding of bio-mechanics and injury management to his treatments. As well as his own knowledge and work experience, Russell has been exposed to and treated by some of the best practitioners available to Australian athletes. Russell is a member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT).

Erryn Tomkins
Remedial Massage Therapist

Erryn is a qualified Remedial Massage therapist, completing her diploma of Remedial Massage at the well renowned Australian College of Sports therapy in 2014 where she has gained a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology, particularly musculoskeletal structure and function. Erryn has a passion for natural health and wellness and is currently expanding her knowledge by studying a Bachelor of Nutritional Medicine to assist with her holistic approach to healing. Erryn also understands the power of connecting with people on an energetic and emotional level and offers a compassionate approach along with a dedication to learning and implementing new skills to build upon her current knowledge. Erryn’s ability to tailor her treatment focus and techniques based on clients’ needs make her a popular choice of therapist for a wide range of conditions from sporting injuries, postural strain to those just requiring a more general relaxation type treatment. Erryn is currently available for appointments on Wednesdays and Saturday mornings.

Erryn is a Member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA) and her treatment is claimable with private health insurance cover (massage therapy extras)
