Melanie Tam at More Than Physio has been amazing! Since early December 2022 I have had severe neck stiffness and accompanying headaches. I've had dizziness and then from the resulting stress started jaw clenching (which has produced facial pain and ear issues - ear fullness, popping, tinnitus). I had a number of scans and tests done, and saw multiple physios at other clinics, as well as other types of practitioners. I came across Melbourne TMJ & Facial Pain Centre and saw the reviews for Melanie and thought she'd be a great fit. Melanie's knowledge is comprehensive, and she is extremely thorough in her investigations of what is happening. She takes into account how you are feeling psychologically as well, and is particularly understanding and empathetic. Her treatment is very precise, and whenever I have visited her I have had great relief! She's given me a detailed program of exercises and self-massage to do between visits that deal with the neck and jaw, but also underlying problems elsewhere that have been impacting them. After so much searching I am now seeing results - my neck stiffness and pain and accompanying headaches are reducing, and I'm feeling more and more like my old self. For months I was unsure when I could return to work, drive, help out at home, engage in social activities, and get back to exercising. I can now see my way out and Melanie has been a HUGE part of this. I simply can not recommend her highly enough! THANK YOU MELANIE! Reception staff are amazing as well - Ruth, Rebecca, Louise, and Charlie thank you for always being so welcoming!

I wasn’t sure where to go after being advised by my GP to start on painkillers for lower back pain. I found more than physio and was able to be seen for an initial consult the same day. The consult was really helpful and Agatha gave me a plan on how to start managing and minimising my pain. I will definitely be returning.

Phil Power is a fabulous remedial massage therapist and helped me a lot. The building, rooms and facilities are first class and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would improve is the parking.

I can not recommend More than Physio enough. I have been seeing Melanie for the last few months for a long standing jaw issue, which we've actually found is much more extensive than we initially thought. Melanie is great: she explained every step of the process in a very thorough initial consultation, she is reassuring, and regularly checks in to make sure the treatments aren't too painful and that i'm happy to continue. I was quite disheartened after my first appointment but she reassured me that we can work through it. She is so friendly and welcoming, as are the reception team. Highly highly recommend!

I came to more than physio as an emergency patient, I woke up with my jaw completely locked and could only open my mouth 1-2cm with excruciating pain. The staff were wonderful and got me in that day, Darren was not only incredibly knowledgeable but to my surprise and relief he is trauma informed and incorporates modifications to the treatment to allow for client comfort. He was able to take the time to explain each step, ask for consistent consent throughout the treatment as well remind me I had control and the option to stop at any time. As someone with CPTSD, the steps he took to ensure my comfort were extremely appreciated. Within 2 treatments my jaw was fully functional. This made a huge difference for me as I often have panic attacks and a lot of anxiety when it comes to people working around my face. I thought I was going to see improvement in my jaw but I did not expect the overall improvement in my life, my sleep is better, the tension in my neck and back is improving every day, the skills they have taught me that I implemented in my day to day routine are priceless and I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I am speechless. I cannot recommend this place enough. Being a pro wrestler I have had almost chronic pain daily. Sharp pain in my shoulder blade and lower back that brought issues doing daily tasks. I ha e literally just finished my second session and I have ZERO pain. I can bend over no worries, I can sit and not move and feel a sharp pain, I feel lighter and extremely happy.Not only that, the communication is incredible, I learn every time I'm in, the staff are all friendly and the facilities are top notch.No amount of money would be too much to pay for the relief I am feeling right now.Darren and his staff are a godsend!

More Than Physio have been amazing in their customer service and treatment of my TMJ. I came to them with quite severe popping and cracking in my jaw. I had previously seen another notable TMJ centre about this problem but they were unable to resolve it so I was doubtful whether this place could. However, after 6 sessions with Surbhi, almost all my cracking and popping is gone! I am very satisfied with the outcome and still cannot believe how noise free my jaw is. The More Than Physio team are extremely kind and understanding, and I’m appreciative of their customer service. I would highly recommend More Than Physio to anyone who is experiencing TMJ, specifically Surbhi, who is empathetic, attentive, and friendly. Thank you MTP team!

I started seeing my amazing physio Debbie with extreme jaw pain and back/neck issues. She was able to customise the experience for me and helped me figure out the best treatment plan. My pain has since reduced to almost no pain within a few sessions. Could not recommend More Than Physio more for any TMJ, jaw and physio needs.

I have seen great improvement of my TMJ issues thanks to Roisin and the team at more than physio! I used to have very severe headaches that would frequently occur everyday from TMJ related problems and after having seen Roisin for a few months, they have almost fully gone away!Roisin is always so great to talk to and her work has helped my TMJ related issues immensely!

I have seen Darron for more than 10 years now for all my neck/back injuries and have been very pleased with the outcome. Darron is the best Physiotherapist I have been to. Its a shame that he now doesn't see anymore clients. However I have to say all the other therapists are just as amazing. My son recently sprained his ankle and we managed to book in to see someone on the same day. Roisin was AMAZING. She was excellent with kids. She made my son felt much better after the session and showed him some exercises he could do at home. I couldn't have asked for better physios. I live about 40 mins away and I am always happy to travel because I know I will be in good hands. I will recommend them to anyone looking for a quality physios who know what they are doing!

Most recently I have had a very severe pain on my right hip. I am very glad that I choice More Than Physio. My therapist Debbie has been helping me to get better and rid off the pains on my hip. I was very confused and painful because I had a terrible TMJ. After the TMJ, my two teeth were partially damaged by the huge bite force. Sometimes I was so stressed that I couldn’t sleep. I was afraid that the teeth clenching caused by TMJ would make My tooth was injured again.I met a good doctor here, Dr Teo. When I met Dr.Teo for the first time,Dr. Teo patiently, responsibly, and carefully explained the situation I’m currently experiencing, and gave me some advice on the condition of my teeth.The clear analysis gave me an understanding of my occlusion problem and TMJ. Dr Teo followed up on my occlusion problem, and even at 22:00 in the evening, he was still replying to my email. I I really feel his dedication and professionalism.It can be said that I have never met such a doctor who can follow up my situation and analyze it patiently for me. With his professionalism and enthusiasm, I am very moved. I am not afraid of my situation, I feel at ease. I believe my occlusion can be restored soon with the help of Dr.Teo.Dr Teo is very knowledgeable about dental problems and TMJ problems. There are really very few doctors who know these two professional fields very well. He can give an effective suggestion and take care of me in the shortest possible time. At the same time, he also handled and communicated some necessary communication for me to get a better occlusion of my teeth. He considered and analyzed very carefully and thoughtfully for me, making me feel the highest respect I have received as a patient. I can’t express my gratitude in words.Dr Teo’s professionalism and enthusiasm will bring the best experience to patients. The team at More Than Physio certainly deliver just that! Caring and professional therapists and really friendly staff who are always happy to help. They've been treating my various injuries and niggles for almost 15 years and the results have been consistently terrific! I cannot recommend them enough!

I have been coming here for a few years now. I initially visited for TMJ treatment which was to assist my clicking jaw. I continued to get Physio as I was quite active and I was happy to visit a team that I trusted. After my car accident I continued to see the team and my current treatment with Shan has been excellent. Between Shan and Pilates with Surbhi I love that there goal is to get you back to being active and moving. Everyone here is honest, they have proven over the 7 years that I have been attending that they operate from a high position of integrity.

I highly recommend More than physio clinic. Everybody is very professional and the entire clinic is spotless . All of the staff here are so wonderful. The receptionists are really helpful and make you feel right at home, I love having a little chat before my appointment! My Physio is Surbhi Kanwar. She has helped my recovery from two injuries and I couldn’t be more grateful. She is very caring and skilled at what she does. It is obvious she takes pride her work and in helping people. Surbhi has taken excellent care of me and worked really hard to help me overcome my injury. I have also started reformer Pilates with her recently and this has been really helpful as well :)Can’t recommend her highly enough! Thank you!

Several years ago I presented at More Than Physio with chronic pain resulting from old injuries including whiplash neck, torn shoulder, carpal tunnel, two hip replacements and significant height loss.The amazing Phyl Power has helped my healing process with his superb massage techniques and sound advice. This prepared me for joining the excellent Getback program for spinal rehabilitation under the expert care of Alex Maratos. After following his highly affordable program for eighteen months I am now thrilled to find that my back has been significantly strengthened and I am a good 2” taller than before! I have also progressed from needing to take pain killers every day to only needing them occasionally. Alex has assisted me with specialised exercises for my wrists and hips, and I have become increasingly aware of my body. I am now better able to do gardening and stronger exercises without risk of damage, pain or fatigue.

My headaches have ceased! While I still have some jaw tightness day to day which is expected, Darron's home treatment plan that I can access on my phone (anywhere!), has enabled me to reduce the pain between clinic visits. Very happy with my experience.

Debbie Spanos treated me for a neck injury, to improve my balance and to strengthen my knees/legs. She did this most competently and with positive improvement in each of the above. Her approach involved massage and setting a number of daily exercises. Most importantly she explained clearly the action she took and the rationale for each exercise. I recommend Debbie highly.

I had serious back pain and became one of the first to try out the Healthy Back Solutions computerised strength development and pain relief program. After completing the program I was pain free with greater core strength, mobility and flexibility. Quite frankly I'd given up hope. Thank you Alex. Without your guidance and support I wouldn't have been able to achieve such amazing results. I would recommend this program to anybody with back pain.

Joanne Wraight is a very skilled and empathetic physio. Joanne diagnosed my problem correctly and through her experience thought I would likely need shoulder surgery - she was correct ! She then continued with rehab after surgery to ensure I had excellent movement and function - which I still have. Thanks Jo - Denise Tomaras.

I came to More Than Physio after suffering from headaches and/or migraines almost daily for most of my adult life. I just suffered in silence and took pain killers often which were having little effect. A friend recommended Darron from More Than Physio as he had helped her in the past. I was apprehensive about the appointment as I work in the Allied Health industry myself and had seen physios in the past with no success. However, Darron was amazing! Within TWO sessions I was headache free and have been ever since (4 weeks now) which I find remarkable and still cannot believe! I couldn't speak more highly of the team at More Than Physio and have already recommended than to clients of my own having similar issues!! Highly recommended, it has changed my life!!!

More Than Physio is a fantastic business. I have complex health needs, especially with my neck and Darron is the only physio who has been able to manage and reduce my neck pain. My neck and face pain has reduced enormously. I would highly recommend More Than Physio!

After suffering from years of pain and waiting for the public system i stumbled upon this place. My first appointment was squezed in at the last minute. Pain can be such a horrible thing to manage and all the staff here are clearly aware of peoples feelings and you are made to feel welcome.My appointment with darren was amazing. I felt so much better after my first appoinment i have returned a few times and will continue to return. There was no pressure to buy products if you didnt want to, and all options where discussed.While it is costly compared to the public system it doesnt break the bank and its certainly worth every cent!!I highly recommend More then physio to anybody who requires such servicesAnd a big thank you to Darren for making my life a lot more comfortable :D

Previous to receiving treatment at 'More Than Physio', I suffered a blow to the side of my face during a netball match nine months ago, which began my pain at my temporomandibular joint, as well as lock jaw. I was referred by my local dentist to Darron Goralsky at 'More Than Physio'. After a couple of weeks treatment, I have quickly made great progress!! I am so happy that after regularly being treated by Darron, and completing exercises at home, I am now free from lock jaw, and I suffer from very little pain compared to my previous nine months. I highly recommend 'More Than Physio' as they are an outstanding and friendly team that puts in 100% into your treatment.
